If you want to live in the City of Warsaw or the City of Goshen, you can fill out a pre-application by either downloading the appropriate form under the “Applications” tab, or you can visit our offices at 109 W. Catherine Street in Milford, Indiana to fill out one in person.

Under HUD guidelines, we only check for violence and drug charges. It does not matter if it was a misdemeanor or a felony. Please be up front with us so that we can have a full picture about your situation; we’re here to help.

If you have had a drug charge within the last 5 years, it could potentially keep you from receiving assistance.

If you filled out a pre-application and do not immediately hear from us, congratulations! You’re on the waitlist.

If we have any issues with your application, we will contact you shortly after receiving it so that you can make the required changes.

Due to how fast the list can change, we don’t give out exactly where you are on the waitlist. We will contact you at the number you supplied with your pre-application. If you have changed addresses or phone numbers, please come to our office and update your information.

At your intake meeting, your caseworker will determine 30% of your income, which you will spend on rent and utilities. The HCV covers the rest!

We do not currently have preferences for homeless families, disabilities, or domestic violence. To ensure you receive your voucher as soon as possible, please fill out a pre-app today!

NCIH does not own any housing. When you recieve a voucher from us, you are able to find a private landlord in Goshen or Warsaw to lease with.

Your caseworker will provide you with a list of verifications to bring to your individual appointments. Please get them all prepared ahead of time and bring them; the sooner you get them to us, the quicker we can get you into your new home!

Verifications include:

-Income

-Birth Certificates

-Social Security Cards

-Photo ID

After you have leased with your HCV for one year, you are eligible to move to a new unit.  Please contact your caseworker for the appropriate forms.

You must give both NCIH and your landlord at least 30 days notice.

For any general questions, feel free to call our office at 574-269-7641 ext. 110. If you have any other questions or need to talk with another staff member, our front desk will forward your call.
